Position Summary: The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Arkansas State University seeks applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Statistics position, with a starting date of August 15, 2017.
The department's programs include the B.S. Mathematics, B.S.E. Mathematics, M.S. Mathematics, M.S.E. Mathematics, undergraduate minors in both mathematics and statistics, and a Ph.D. Minor in Statistics. The department teaches undergraduate and graduate statistics courses that support many degree programs on campus and enrollment is growing.
Each member of the faculty has the duty to deliver instruction and maintain a learning environment consistent with the highest standards of the profession.
Faculty have a responsibility for course assessment.
Faculty members are devoted to teaching, maintaining research programs, and participating in local and national professional societies in statistics or mathematics.
Primary teaching responsibilities will be in undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics and (if applicable) undergraduate courses in mathematics.
Other: University computer labs are well-equipped, with access to R, SAS®, MINITAB® and SPSS®, and allow students to program using full versions of statistical software packages often used in the market.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in statistics by August 2017. Successful college teaching experience (may include TA experience) and a strong mathematics background are preferred.
