Occupational Summary

Serve as a member of the functional team supporting the procurement modules/functions of SAP MM (MM/SRM/Inventory/BW) for the University and the Health System. Serve as the primary backup to the Procurement Team Lead.


Duties
  • Lead a review of all Procurement business processes supported in SAP and fully document all Procurement functions supported in in Duke's SAP ECC and SRM environment including system configuration, customizations, data model, workflow models, system interfaces, test plans, reports, and other relevant components.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer with the Procurement Team Lead to fully understand the Duke Procurement processes supported in SAP and all capabilities established in SAP to support Procurement activities.
  • Serve as the lead resource on various new SAP procurement projects for the University and Health System. Duties include project management, requirements analysis, design specification development, SAP system configuration, and implementation. Project management duties include leading meetings, developing project plans, leading design and business process change efforts, identifying security requirements, developing test plans, and overall team coordination.
  • Provide production support for SAP procurement modules including testing support and enhancement packs, making minor enhancements to SAP procurement modules, supporting key constituencies, and resolving system problems.
  • Serve as the expert configuration resource for selected Procurement modules of SAP. Primary modules to support are to be determined.
  • Perform other duties and special projects related to the duties described above and at the direction of the Associate Vice President.

Minimum Qualifications
Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

Experience
  • A minimum of five years of experience in business operations or financial management, preferably in higher education or health care.
  • Experience in configuring and implementing components of SAP (or similar non-SAP ERP systems) is required; direct experience with implementing and supporting SAP Procurement modules is preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/assignments, ability to work with a broad range of administrative, technical, and functional staff, and a broad understanding of University and Health System administration and operations are required.
