Basic Functions: Lead a team responsible for management of gift, donor, and constituent records. Process complex gifts. Complete a variety of processes related to gift administration and reporting.

Essential Job Functions: Supervise a team of three consisting of two constituent records specialists and one gift accounting specialist. Process gifts including gifts of stock and other securities, pledges, planned gifts, wire transfers, and gifts in kind. Coordinate the transfer of gifts of securities with major donors and their brokers. Serve as liaison between Operations and Denison's major and planned gift officers on gifts matters, ensuring gifts from major donors are properly recorded and properly reflected in reports and figures. Serve as primary liaison with the Investment Office and with Merrill Lynch, administrator of Denison's gift brokerage account. Serve as primary liaison between Operations and the Controller's Office. Reconcile Advancement gift records with Controller's Office. Set up and maintain gift funds (designations). Serve as primary liaison with Denison's external financial auditors. Compile the annual Voluntary Support of Education (VSE) report and submit the report to the Council for Aid to Education. Discuss complex gifts and transfers with major donors. Work with matching gift companies and their administrators to facilitate matching gifts to Denison. Identify proactive opportunities for increasing matching gift revenue. Monitor will commitments and other deferred or planned gifts to Denison to anticipate necessary steps for facilitating the realization of those gifts. Oversee the student worker program which supports all of Advancement Operations. Facilitate best practices in the area of gift and donor records. Stay current on IRS regulations and CASE gift counting guidelines, as well as FASB and GAAP where appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree from an accredited institution. Two years of experience in accounting, business, finance, information systems, customer service, or a related area. Strong organizational, verbal and communication skills and the ability to handle changing priorities. High level of professionalism and excellent customer service skills. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, ability to work independently, train others and acquire new skills as needed. Demonstrated team leadership abilities.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. Experience working in a development office. Gift entry experience and familiarity with complex gift accounting and gift administration processes. Supervisorial or management experience. Experience using Ellucian's Banner. Experience with Cognos.
