General Summary: The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an Instructor for the Summer Scholars program. The Instructor will engage Summer Scholars students in rigorous academic content through hands on, inquiry based learning experiences.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: The Summer Scholars Instructor will:
  • Create standards-based curricula in social studies and language arts
  • Teach social studies and language arts units of instruction to rising eighth graders
  • Accompany students on field trips
  • Supervise UNG interns and service learning students participating in Summer Scholars
  • Interact with parents and guardians

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • ESOL experience and experience working with English language learners

Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • Teacher Certification in language arts and social studies; graduate coursework in critical pedagogy
  • Public school (K-12) teaching and higher education teaching.
  • Georgia Teacher Certification
