Job Description
The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for the position of History Adjunct Instructor.

The number of vacancies is dependent on student enrollment, division needs, and dean approval. Your application cannot be considered until all required documents have been received.

Adjunct instructors plan classes and implement and evaluate teaching/leaming objectives and student learning outcomes. An adjunct instructor undertakes the divisional and professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member, including office hours. The successful applicant will be expected to provide instruction in a full range of undergraduate History courses within UNT Dallas's History minor, including core-curriculum World and U.S. History courses (1050-World History to the Sixteenth Century, 1060-World History since the Sixteenth Century, 2610-U.S. History to 1865, and 2620-U.S. History since 1865), and there may be an opportunity to teach upper-level courses.

Adjunct faculty members will be required to use texts and meet certain content parameters set by the Department of Social Sciences. Adjunct instructors also will be required to include in their courses certain student assessment measures determined by the department, and to compile data on those assessment criteria. Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in History with at least 18 graduate hours in History, and outstanding experience in teaching core-curriculum World and U.S. History courses.

Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in History with significant experience in higher education;
  • Successful experience teaching adults in a post-secondary institution;
  • Excellent communication skills in multicultural settings.

Work is primarily sedentary. Sits comfortably to do the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, or lifting items weighing up to 15 pounds
