Sponsored Research Administration


This position provides accounting/fiscal support and services on state and federal contracts and grants within Sponsored Research Administration (SRA), which manages $200 million in research expenditures annually for the University.
Position duties include completing contract data entry for awards and award amendments within the accounting system. Completes funding distributions and establishes internal awards. Generates queries, trial balances, property memos, and other necessary documentation as requested. Responsible for carrying out communications with department personnel via email and telephone as needed to carry out job duties. Prepares monthly monitoring reports for SRA management. Performs other duties as assigned.


A bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to six years. Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.
Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to perform accurately in a detail oriented environment. Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or equivalent software.

A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management. Fiscal/accounting experience, with knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Experience using PeopleSoft/Oracle ERP system.

Anticipated Salary Range

$30,000 - $34,000 annually

Pay Plan

This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.

Soft Money Funded Position

This is a soft money funded position, with renewal based on available funds and the needs of the University.


If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5.
