Position Summary

This position provides mental health and wellness services to assist domestic and international students in the University Residence Halls/Neighborhoods so that students can attain their education and academic goals.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing one or two years of graduate study beyond a Bachelor's degree, such as a Masters in Social Work; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in counseling in a mental health environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and State certification as a Social Worker. ACSW may be required in order to provide primary supervision of social work students.

Desired Qualifications

Demonstrated interest and experience in university based counseling services and knowledge of mental health issues and challenges affecting domestic and international university students such as a resident assistant, graduate hall director or student leader; evidence of ability to reach out and engage with students; experience working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders demonstrated in application of multicultural counseling principles including evidence based interventions; creative leadership skills and commitment to innovation.
