The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is accepting applicants for a Budget Analyst in the Budget Office. This position is primarily responsible for handling position control data entry and analysis, budget data entry using Banner HR and routine department/activity head budget requests. Will be required to participate in the development, justification, implementation, and review of The Citadel’s annual budget. Assists the Budget Director in conducting special studies and analyses related to all college financial operations, student fees, revenue generations, and resource allocation. Responsible for acting on all VP/Dean/Director requests involving adjustments between labor and operating budgets using Banner Finance and Banner HR systems to maintain a balanced budget. Responsible for the processing of all payroll paperwork in coordination with Human Resources and/or the requesting department. This includes the responsibility of tracking budget surplus transfers associated with lapse across all organizational units. Must be able to run the semi-monthly 7 step budget maintenance procedure and budget encumbrance procedure in Banner HR and feeding them to the finance system as part of the payroll process; and responsible for position control set-up year-end processes. Responsible for the maintenance of Position Control for all permanent and temporary positions within Banner; this includes the set-up of temporary positions, setting correct labor distribution for Add Pay and Dual Employment forms, and making adjustments to labor distribution for permanent positions. Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or computer-related field with four(4) years’ experience in a business or college environment with advanced skills in analyzing large datasets. Must have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office with excellent EXCEL skills. In addition, the employee should have a detailed background working in records management and outstanding customer service skills are required. Requires routine lifting associated with filing of paperwork that is less than 10 pounds.
