Located in historic Charleston, a city known for its unique charm, The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, is a residential, public senior military college dedicated to excellence in the education of principled future leaders. About a third of our cadets enter military service after graduation, while the majority of cadets leverage their distinctive education for a civilian career. In its evening programs, The Citadel functions as a regional university that offers graduate and undergraduate degrees focused on serving the local community.  The School of Science and Mathematics offers both graduate and undergraduate degrees in Biology; Computer Science; Health, Exercise, and Sport Science; and Mathematics; and undergraduate degrees in Chemistry (ACS-accredited), Nursing, and Physics. There are approximately 400 undergraduate and 65 graduate students in these programs. The School currently employs 46 faculty members actively engaged in teaching, research, and service. The School’s budget is supplemented through the efforts of the Citadel Foundation, which provides significant funding for scholarships and faculty research. The Traubert Chair will have access to development funding to support one’s ongoing research.
