University of North Texas Health Science Center - Librarian (Clinical Librarian JPS)
The Gibson D. Lewis Library at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Librarian to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:* Primarily responsible for facilitating access to health information by developing resources, programs, and services to increase the JPS community's knowledge and use of authoritative clinical, research and consumer health information.* Conceptualizes and creates library programs, services and products to increase access to and use of authoritative clinical, biomedical and consumer health information.* Facilitates discovery of research and clinical literature by assisting in the analysis, acquisition and organization of information tools.* Educates users about Library resources, products and services.* Assists with identifying and developing assessment tools for measuring the quality of library services.* Serves as a member of library committees as assigned. * Responds to user requests in an appropriate and timely manner.* Interprets library policies and procedures to facilitate user service.* Represents the library at local, regional and national meetings.* Maintains awareness of changes within the field of health science librarianship, scientific research and general trends in academic health science libraries.* Identify and cultivate clinical information partnerships and service opportunities to support patient care and medical education within JPS and other JPS Health Network affiliated clinics.* Provide research support to JPS Health Network clinicians, staff, and administrators.* Conceptualize, create, and provide library programs, services, and products to increase access to and use of authoritative clinical, biomedical, and consumer health information.* Provide didactic instruction in the selection and use of high-quality evidence for clinical decision-making including the use of databases, mobile apps, research guides/learning objects, and other research support tools.* Promote and provide expert mediated literature search services for all JPS patrons.* Participate in Lewis Library's analysis of research tools, databases, and information services to assist in building the JPS research collection.* Experience providing literature search services in an academic or clinical setting.* Experience providing individual or group instruction.* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.* Ability to interact with other professionals, students, staff, and faculty in a collegial manner.* Demonstrated ability to work individually and as part of a team.The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices.
