University of North Texas Health Science Center - Senior Librarian (Clinical)
The Gibson D. Library at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Senior Librarian to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:Primarily responsible for facilitating access to health information by developing programs and services to increase UNTHSC clinical health practitioner and researcher access to authoritative biomedical literature. Manages, coordinates and evaluates library research services programs.* Identify and develop clinical information service opportunities with JPS Health Network.* Manage day-to-day operations of the John S. Marietta Medical Library under Lewis Library Administration.* Hire, onboard, and supervise one clinical librarian and 1 FTE library assistant.* Provide research support to JPS Health Network clinicians, staff, and administrators.* Provide didactic instruction in the selection and use of high-quality evidence for clinical decision-making including the use of databases, mobile apps, research guides/learning objects, and other research support tools.* Promote and provide expert mediated literature search services for all JPS patrons.* Participate in Lewis Library's analysis of research tools, databases, and information services to assist in building the JPS research collection.* Serves as a member of library and/or hospital committees as assigned.* Supervise professional and non-professional staff and manage day-to-day operations in area/department under Lewis Library Administration.* Conceptualize, create, and offer library programs, services, and products to increase access to and use of authoritative clinical, biomedical, and consumer health information.* Develop workflow for area/department including processes and procedures.* Assists with identifying and developing assessment tools for measuring the quality of library services.* Responds to user requests in an appropriate and timely manner.* Interprets library policies and procedures to facilitate user service.* Represents the library at local, regional, and national meetingsMaintains awareness of changes within the field of health science librarianship, scientific research, and general trends in hospital/patient care settings.* Other duties as assigned.The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices.
