The Engineering-Dean's Off Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Academic Advisor II to join our team. The Academic Advisor II will also prepare paperwork associated with academic requirements, graduation processing, and perform advanced assignments typically associated with leadership and training of Academic Advising employees, or with program/projects of greater scope and complexity. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Maintain knowledge of DARS/EIS system. * Maintain the upkeep of degree plans.* Submit graduation packets to the Registrar's office in a timely manner. Bachelor's Degree and two years of experience in student affairs, student services, counseling, or professional academic advising. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:* Considerable knowledge of University policies and procedures related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate).* Knowledge of Texas rules and regulations related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate).* Strong presentation skills.* Strong problem solving skills.* Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations verbally and in writing.* Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.* Ability to work independently.
