University of North Texas - Administrative Coordinator I
The Biological Sciences Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Administrative Coordinator I to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:* Assisting the chair in preparation of reports for internal and external clients; performing general administrative duties in the chair's absence; approving appointments and reviewing emails; and scheduling conferences, meetings, and special events.* Serving as the chair's interdepartmental representative and contact for institutional administrative offices.* Reviewing and proofing departmental expenditure documents such as travel reimbursements, IDO/IDTs, and miscellaneous reimbursements for chair's approval.* Coordinating College-Departmental interactions involving finalization of faculty offer letters, and processing of hiring documents.* Coordinating Departmental-International Office interactions involving immigration and visa issues for faculty and staff hires.* Advertising, interviewing and hiring departmental administrative staff and hourly workers.* Coordinating staff work assignments and training in a large, complex department employing up to 40 faculty.* Maintaining personnel records and payroll for multiple hourly and salaried employees.* Serving on departmental staff committees to review, amend, and implement new policies and procedures.* Directly supervising benefits-eligible staff and student workers, as appropriate.The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices. The successful candidate will possess an Associate's Degree and three years of office administration experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
