University of North Texas - Student Services Coordinator II - Coordinator for Special Projects
The University of North Texas is seeking candidates for the position of Coordinator for Special Projects within the Division of Student Affairs. The Coordinator reports to the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs engagement and will assist in the development and implementation of programs and services housed within the Division. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:* Advise the Distinguished Lecture Series (DLS) and student chair by holding committee meetings to determine and plan all lectures.* Assess all DLS lectures and events and create executive summaries for each.* Advise the DLS committee on university policy and state/federal law that affect their events.* Improve marketing efforts for the DLS based on feedback and ideas after each event.* Chair the Event Safety Committee (ESC) which will include convening the committee members, advising students on event safety protocol, upholding University Policy, make appropriate judgment calls regarding student organizations throughout process of holding events involving risk, following up with organizations with event evaluations.* Work collaboratively with the Department of Sociology to provide programming and service to foster care alumni.* Advise the Green Jackets, a service organization, and ensure requests for Green Jackets to volunteer at events are fulfilled.* Assist in the coordination and implementation of the Future Eagles Programs (program where all Denton ISD 6th graders come to UNT for a day).* Advance philosophies of student affairs and cultural diversity while actively promoting diversity in staffing, programming, and student leadership.* Assist in the development and implementation of assessments, evaluations, and research activities related to programs.* Support all programs and initiatives originating underneath the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs.* Assist with the development, revision, and distribution of marketing, educational, and informational publications and materials related to areas of responsibility.* Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices. The successful candidate will possess a Master's Degree in related field and two years of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
