Student Services Assistant (College of Veterinary Medicine)

General Description of Position: The Student Services Assistant is responsible for managing the student testing center as part of the College of Veterinary Medicine Dean’s Office at Kansas State University.  The coordinator position provides support for fourth-year communication training by maintaining schedules, transcribing interviews, editing questionnaire responses, and downloading and editing of student-client videos.  The successful candidate will work with course coordinators in all departments of the college in managing testing accommodations for students that have a special needs related to testing.  This position also completes daily monitoring and reporting of completed and insufficient technical procedures, fulfillment for credit externship requirements as well as oversees the teaching evaluations from third year veterinary students.  Diversity and Inclusion: Kansas State University embraces diversity, and promotes inclusion in every sector of the institution. · Coordinate counseling activities and communication training for the  College of Veterinary Medicine

· Maintain confidential records (filing, transcription)

· Create promotional material for therapeutic activities (handouts, fliers)

· Maintain positive attitude to enhance clients’ sense of well-being and comfort

· Coordinate fourth-year communication training by maintaining schedules, transcribing interviews, editing questionnaire responses, and downloading and editing student-client videos

· Coordinate third-year communication training by scheduling students and actors

· Counseling and communication research: prepare spreadsheets, administer surveys, and collect data from large samplings of veterinary students

· Assist with editing of professional submissions 

· Overall management of the new student testing center in Trotter Hall

· Coordinate, schedule, monitor and track testing accommodations for exams to qualified veterinary students (SAC letter is required)

· Work with faculty and instructors as needed related to use of the testing center

· Assist students as needed when using the testing center services. This will provide extended time and distraction-reduced accommodations to the veterinary students. This includes management of the closed-circuit monitoring software system. Administer/proctor exams with a duration from 1-5 hours in length.

· Coordinate schedule for studio recording sessions. Manage marriage and family therapy graduate student client schedule. Required Minimum Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree

· Excellent computer skills, communication skills and strong interpersonal skills 

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to those with four years’ experience in an administrative support position. Word processing database management.
