BUSINESS ANALYST I, Project Management (4688/F0817)
Boston University is seeking a Business Analyst I within the Information Services & Technology Project Management Office. This individual will be focused on Research Administration and Faculty Systems projects. This position is part of a diverse project team to help support strategic goals of the University. The Business Analyst I is responsible for discovering, validating, documenting and communicating business processes and requirements for medium to large projects. The BA facilitates requirements gathering and business process re-engineering with large groups of clients, typically from one or two domains. The BA is an integral part of project teams and responsible for understanding and representing the clients requirements throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include: Work with clients to analyze, design and develop new business processes to meet the business objectives. Facilitate workshops with diverse clients to reach agreement on requirements. Translate and document business processes and requirements into use cases, activity diagrams and other models. Work with Project Managers to ensure smooth and timely completion of requirements. Provide input on scope and approach in project plans, based on an understanding of the clients requirements and priorities. Work with internal IS&T teams to deliver functional specifications. Act as client advocate during project life cycle to ensure business requirements and processes are understood and addressed during design, development, SIT and UAT.
B.A. /B.S. Masters degree preferred. Three plus years of related experience. Has worked successfully in a client oriented team environment. Has experience in process re-engineering, requirements elicitation, and creating and maintaining project related documentation. Excellent listening and communication skills (both written and verbal). Able to collaborate with clients and think of out-of-the-box solutions. Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
