INTERNATIONAL ADMISSIONS SPECIALIST

POSITION DETAILS

The International Admissions Specialist position serves to ensure that the organization stays in compliance with all regulatory matters pertaining to over 300 international students.  Responsible for intricate form processing and extensive information input related to all international students at the campus location.  Responsible for providing professional level work associated with student intake, assessment, articulation, and ongoing support services to international students. Provides detailed information related to immigration procedures, handles detailed immigration paperwork to ensure compliance with rules and regulations, and inputs related information into the federally mandated software system SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) as required by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensures full cycle compliance with SEVIS, Department of Homeland Security and USCIS including all paperwork submissions for M1 visa, I-20 and annual renewals

Coordinates daily tasks associated with SEVIS management, including, but not limited to: data uploads and downloads, SEVIS document management, daily alerts/reports and data error management

Serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) for the M-1 program.

Ensures that all necessary filings and reporting are made in a timely and accurate manner. 

Conducts informational training and new student orientation programs for international students.

Assists the students in completing forms required for a wide variety of state and federal policies, procedures and regulations

Manages completeness of student files, reviews and evaluates international student records and resources

Works within stringent and pre-established deadlines which if not strictly followed could impose a financial penalty to the institution

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree and minimum three years' related experience required.   Experience working with SEVIS and USCIS for International students.  Knowledge of regulation established by federal and state agencies.  Candidates must be extremely detail-oriented and possess excellent organizational, time management, prioritization and multi-tasking skills required and demonstrate intercultural/international awareness, communication ability and cultural knowledge and sensitivity.
