Manager of Athletics Development

Bucknell University is seeking applications for an experienced professional to serve as the new Manager of Athletics Development, a position that is primarily responsible for maximizing annual gifts to the Bison Club and varsity sports through personal solicitations and stewardship. The Manager will also assist with the coordination of athletics-focused fundraising activities initiated through the division of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) and the department of Athletics and Recreation.

Now let's talk about the job! The Manager works closely with several DAR departments to coordinate the development and execution of the annual athletics fundraising campaign for current operations as well as assist in the production of athletics fundraising publications. The Manager also has an opportunity to interact heavily with the Director of Athletics and Recreation and the other Athletics staff and coaches to aid in the department's fundraising and development programs. Specifically, this includes engaging and soliciting existing donors (175 annual prospects with an emphasis on donors capable of giving $2,500 or more) and identifying new donor prospects who may be able to give to the Bison Club or even provide a capital gift to the department. To be qualified for this exciting opportunity, you must have an earned bachelor's degree and two years of fundraising or closely related experience. You must also be able to speak and write effectively; be creative; practice diplomacy, tact, discretion, and confidentiality; and be able to manage multiple projects at once. Experience with word processing, Excel spreadsheets, constituent databases, e-mail, and the internet are required. Due to the nature of the position, a willingness to travel and a valid U.S. driver's license is also required.
