FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Culinary Arts Program of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality at Kingsborough Community College seeks Adjunct Lecturers with a history of significant Industry experience, starting Fall 2016.

The Culinary Arts Program at Kingsborough Community College is recognized for its leadership in Culinary Arts study and workforce training in the New York Metropolitan Region. Kingsborough Community College is located in Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn, adjacent to Sheepshead Bay with a diverse student population of over 15,000 commuters who attend day, evening, and weekend classes.

Duties include:

  • Teach courses in the diverse segments of the Culinary Arts curriculum including, but not limited to: culinary arts, pastry arts, international cuisine, food and beverage management, food and beverage cost control, and sanitation.
  • Day, evening and weekend teaching may be required.
  • Performs teaching and related faculty functions in area(s) of expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in area (s) of expertise, or equivalent is required. Also required is the ability to teach successfully and cooperate with others for the good of the insitution. Applicants should have a minimum of five years post-degree employment in Culinary Arts.

Higher education teaching experience is preferred.

Current Serv-Safe Food Safety Certification is required.

COMPENSATION

$70.53 - $87.80 per hour.

Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
