Assistant, Associate or Full Professor - Immunology (Medical Laboratory Sciences)
FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences at Hunter College of the City University of New York is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a tenure-track Assistant, Associate or Full Professor to teach and establish an actively funded research program, beginning Spring 2018. Among the teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate is expected to teach and develop the curriculum for a one-semester senior level undergraduate Immunology course (lecture and laboratories). The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences prepares undergraduate majors to become laboratory professionals, (including NYS licensed medical laboratory technologists and biomedical research assistants) and to attend graduate and professional schools (e.g., medical, dental). The department has recently introduced three graduate programs, a Masters in Biomedical Laboratory Management, an Advanced Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology and an Advanced Certificate in Cytotechnology. Duties: Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
- Ph.D. degree in immunology or a related area of biomedical science
- A strong publication record in recent peer reviewed literature
- Experience teaching immunology at the undergraduate or graduate level
- An established ongoing research program with funding potential
Other qualifications (desired but not required):
- Background in the clinical (diagnostic) laboratory at any level
- Background or experience in immunohematology
- Experience in educational or laboratory administration
Candidates with a strong and sustained track record of peer reviewed publications, grant history, leadership skills and national recognition will be considered for the rank of Associate or Full Professor.

Salary ranges per title are as follows:
- Assistant Professor: $47,340 - $90,149
- Associate Professor: $61,394 - $106,700
- Full Professor: $75,971-128,485
