FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences invites applications for a full-time lecturer position beginning Spring 2018. Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The successful candidate will be expected to coordinate the graduate program's clinical externship program; teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in speech-language pathology; provide service to the department, college, university, and community, i.e. committee, administrative, supervisory, and other assignments normally associated with a full-time lecturer appointment; evening teaching may be required.

The Lehman College campus is located in Bronx, New York and is a Senior College within the City University of New York (CUNY) system. Lehman is the only four-year public college in the Bronx and is recognized as a Hispanic Serving Institution. The college serves mainly undergraduate students preparing them for employment, the professions and further study. The teaching load is 27 hours (9 courses). Service to the college, university and community is part of the mission as is a clear commitment to student engagement including advisement. Opportunities are available for faculty development and travel awards. Lehman College and CUNY internal funding is available through competitive grants for scholarship and professional development support.

The Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences is housed within the School of Health Sciences, Human Services, and Nursing (HS2N) and offers a BA in speech pathology and audiology and an MA in speech-language pathology.

Performs teaching and related faculty functions in area(s) of expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree required.

Preferred Qualifications: a master's degree in speech-language pathology, Communications Sciences or a clinical doctorate (SLP-D). Applicants holding a CCC-SLP and New York state licensure as a speech-language pathologist with a minimum of five years clinical experience. Experience in clinical administration and clinical supervision.

COMPENSATION

Salaries are commensurate with education and experience and they are subject to the Professional Staff Congress-CUNY salary schedule.
