FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The School of Education of Hunter College-CUNY invites applications for a faculty position in the Department of Special Education as the Director of the Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) programs, effective January 1, 2018. The college places a high priority on teaching and research excellence with an expectation that the candidate will also be active in their professional field. We offer a BACB-approved course sequence for students who are seeking the BCBA. We also have a brand new Masters' of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis that will offer eligibility for the New York State LBA license. Programs are comprised of classes in-person, hybrid, and fully online.
Applicants will be expected to: teach graduate courses; conduct research and publish scholarly writing in special education; supervise students in field placements; develop and maintain relationships with programs in schools and institutions; advise graduate students; serve on department, school of education, college, and university committees; develop training and/or research grant proposals; demonstrate leadership in the field; and oversee program administration.
All candidates must have an earned doctorate in behavior analysis, education, or psychology.
Preference for a candidate eligible for rank of Associate Professor or Professor. Candidates with degrees in education or psychology should have an academic concentration in behavior analysis. A BCBA or BCBA-D with supervision training is required as well as a New York LBA license or eligibility. Candidates should have experience teaching applied behavior analysis at the graduate level, conducting single-subject scholarly research, and rich experience applying behavior analytic principles in clinical settings with individuals with autism spectrum disorders. In addition, applicants should have strong evidence and potential for external grant funding, evidence of promising research and scholarly activity, university teaching and supervisory experience, competence in technology as an educational tool, and a commitment to work in multicultural and urban education settings.
