PUBLIC RELATIONS SPECIALIST II
Job Summary The Development Proposal Writer will play a key role in the Division of Development and Alumni Relations' Office of Communications. This team of approximately 10-15 staff members and student interns is responsible for producing all communications and marketing materials to support the University's alumni engagement and fundraising efforts. The position will be primarily responsible for providing communications support for the development officers at the university. S/he will develop a library of language and templates that more than 100 university fundraisers could use throughout the year in their fundraising efforts. The development of those materials will require independent research, information gathering and graphic design to create polished and professional proposals and other print materials. Regular meetings and interactions with frontline fundraisers will be necessary as the development proposal writer creates support materials, which could also include case statement inserts and brochures. The position will leverage strong writing and editing skills to develop written content for these materials, but will also leverage graphic design layout skills. This position will work directly with the development team to ensure all members have access to a library of materials to customize for donor visits, and will help tell important donor stories to encourage other donors to contribute to UGA. This role will play a key support role for raising annual and major gifts for the University of Georgia. Minimum Qualifications Completion of a bachelor's degree in Journalism, English or related discipline and 4 years directly related experience.
