Required Qualifications: Applicants must have a Master's degree, certification in MT(ASCP) or MLS(ASCP). Must hold or be eligible for a New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license. In addition, a minimum of six years clinical experience as a clinical laboratory technologist, 1 year teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level and experience in the coordination of clinical rotations. Required documents are a curriculum vitae, 3 letters of reference and a statement of teaching philosophy. This position requires a criminal background screening. A 10-15 minute power point presentation to evaluate your teaching abilities is required at time of the interview. This topic is of your choice and should include; objectives, didactic and laboratory components related to your specialty.
Preferred Qualifications: PhD preferred in clinical laboratory sciences or related biomedical science. 3 years teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level and the experience in the coordination of clinical rotations. Previous research experience demonstrated by peer review publications and external funding.
Responsibilities & Requirements: We are seeking an individual for the position for Clinical Education. Primary responsibility is to place, coordinate, monitor and evaluate the clinical portion of the two CLS programs (onsite and part time hybrid) and teach related CLS courses. This individual should have good organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills to teach, conduct and manage learning experiences, maintain current programs, evaluate student achievement, and provide input into new curriculum development. Other responsibilities include student advising, student recruitment, mentoring student research, involvement in scholarly activities; including research, grant writing, publications, service to the School of Health Technology and Management and university, community and the Clinical Laboratory Sciences Profession.
Special Notes: This is a non-tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: Summer 2017.
