Job Summary/Basic Function:
The University of North Texas invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty director to lead the Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences (BAAS) degree program. This position is a 12-month appointment beginning Fall 2017 and reports to the Vice Provost for Academic Outreach and Dean of New College. The BAAS is a multidisciplinary program designed specifically for transfer students and veterans with military credits. It has been a strong part of UNT degree offerings since the 1970's and has become increasingly important as the state prioritizes student completion of post-secondary credentials, including those in technical fields. The BAAS degree program is housed in New College, a recently formed division at UNT.

The successful applicant must be an innovative and collaborative leader with the capacity to cultivate strong institutional and community relationships that foster student success. S(he) will be responsible for direction and oversight of BAAS faculty and curriculum as well as developing and maintaining significant relationship with community college partners. Responsibilities for this position also include teaching two undergraduate courses from the BAAS core each fall and spring semester, management of program course scheduling, and budgetary oversight.

Minimum Qualifications:
* An earned PhD or other terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education;
* Administrative experience within an academic unit in a post-secondary setting;
* A minimum of 4 years of successful teaching experience at the post-secondary level; and,
* Hold at least 18 graduate hours in anthropology, management, public administration, social work, sociology, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
* A record of teaching excellence in online and blended format; and,
* Experience working with nontraditional students
