Job Summary/Basic Function:
General Description:
The role of this position is to plan, evaluate, conduct, and facilitate university-wide academic and administrative assessment. This is accomplished by collaborating with faculty and staff to develop and implement assessment systems; managing operations of the assessment office; implementing and managing assessment systems for campus divisions and committees; maintaining and securing assessment systems and data; providing consulting as programs develop assessment systems; and providing oversight for assessment data systems including WEAVE online, Online Course Evaluation, Voluntary System of Accountability (VSA), and STEPS electronic portfolio. Other duties of this position include the management of survey projects such as NSSE, FSSE, Survey of Organizational Excellence, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools-Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Quality Enhancement Program (QEP), various college and disciplinary accreditation reviews, and program evaluation.

This is accomplished by collaborating with faculty and staff to develop and implement assessment systems; supervising operations of the assessment office; implementing and managing assessment systems for campus divisions and committees; maintaining and securing assessment systems and data; providing consulting as programs develop assessment systems; and providing oversight for assessment data systems including WEAVE online, Online Course Evaluation, Voluntary System of Accountability (VSA), and STEPS electronic portfolio. Other duties of this position include the management of survey projects such as NSSE, FSSE, Survey of Organizational Excellence, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools-Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Quality Enhancement Program (QEP), various college and disciplinary accreditation reviews, and program evaluation.

Manage the operation of the assessment office by directing, overseeing and participating in the Assessment branch of the Office of Planning & Assessment; monitoring budgets and expenditures; directing the Coordinator of Assessment; and planning.

Support development and assessment of the University's QEP and First Year Experience programs in conjunction with the Director of QEP/FYE. Advise the University Institutional Effectiveness Committee in pursuit of its mission to insure that the university remains in compliance with SACS standards

Minimum Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
Serve as chief assessment officer, reporting to Executive Director of Planning and Assessment/SACSCOC Liaison

Education/License Required:
Masters degree from a regionally accredited institution required. Doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution preferred. Graduate coursework in assessment, program evaluation, quantitative/qualitative analysis, data management/analytics, and/or research methodology strongly preferred.

Experience Required:
Seven or more years of progressively more responsible service at a college or university.

Five or more years of successful experience in program evaluation/assessment or institutional research.

Evidence of ability to communicate effectively in writing, speech, and through electronic media.

Physical Requirements:
Sedentary, exerting up to 10 pounds occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience Preferred:
Prior work experience at a SACSCOC S) institution.

Successful experience with SACSCOC (or other regional accrediting) reaffirmation/QEP.

Experience with WEAVE, NSSE, FSSE, student evaluation software, VSA, BANNER, survey research software, and data analysis/presentation software.
