Research Assistant / Crisis Counselor (Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland)
General Description of Position: Kansas State University, School of Family Studies and Human Services, is seeking a part-time Research Assistant / Crisis Counselor with excellent organization and oral/written communication skills to work at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland, on a USDA-funded Family Advocacy Program study. This person will work in collaboration with other research staff at Kansas State University, Northern Illinois University, and other Air Force bases involved in the project.

Job Description: This person is the on-site administrator of the sponsored project to facilitate daily implementation of the research-based project by promoting the program, selecting research participants, designing and implementing database information and collaborating with other researchers.
This individual will collaborate with on-post clinicians to identify and select research participants. Once participants have been accepted into the program, the individual will conduct meeting, explain the project and obtain informed consent. This individual will design an appropriate method of record keeping identifying the participants, preferred methods of contact, and establishing schedules for participants’ input into the study. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining a database to accomplish all aspects of record-keeping, data collection and analysis for the project.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, human ecology or business related field.
- Required experience is experience with and/or knowledge of military family support programs.
Preferred Qualifications: General knowledge of administration and research methodology at academic institutions, experience in conducting research, knowledge of domestic violence, demonstrated ability to work with confidential materials, and computer competency.

Salary Range / Pay Rate: $ 16.38 - $ 27.85 per hour
