The Drafting instructor reports to the Business and Technology Department Chair or designee. The Drafting Instructor is required to participate in off-campus recruiting and promotional activities and supervise students in off-campus intern positions. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to classroom and lab instruction of the drafting curriculum. Provide professional leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum, advise and recruit students, attend graduation ceremonies, participate in professional development activities, maintain inventory of equipment and supplies, and work with the various administrative functions of the college. Performs other related work as assigned. Teaching assignment may include day and evening classes. This is a non-tenure track position.
Associate degree from an accredited college is required. Five years of recent experience in the field and/or relevant teaching experience. Experience and/or certifications may be considered for a portion of the education requirement. Ability to understand the teaching and evaluation methodologies used in the total instructional process. Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff members in a professional manner. Must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds. Ability to plan, schedule, and manage projects and assignments. Ability to establish effective working relationships with others. Ability to clearly communicate. Must comply with established College rules and procedures.
Bachelor’s degree from accredited college preferred. Five years of recent experience in the field is preferred.
