Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job:
The Department of Sociology at Sam Houston State University announces an opening for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, maintain an active research program, and provide service to the University and the discipline.
Educational Requirements for the Position:
A PhD in Sociology or a closely related discipline must be completed by the time of appointment.
Experience Required for the Position:
Candidates must have research agenda in aging and gerontology and/or demography leading to publications in referred journals and the potential to acquire extramural funding. Evidence of excellence (or the promise of excellence) in teaching effectiveness is also required.
