Instructor of Biology
Job Description: Loyola University Chicago (LUC), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Biology invites applications for a full-time, 1-year, nonrenewable position at the rank of Instructor, beginning August 2017. The Biology Department serves more than 1,700 undergraduate majors and approximately 80 Master's students. For an overview of the department, visit www.luc.edu/biology. Duties and Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to teach lecture and laboratory courses in our core freshman biology sequence. Other duties shall include student advising, departmental/university service, and professional development.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching. Candidates for the position should have a Bioscience Ph.D. (M.S. with experience is acceptable). Candidates also must demonstrate a clear potential for distinguished teaching and student mentorship at the post-secondary level or possess a record of such accomplishments. In addition, candidates should have experience teaching undergraduate general biology courses and laboratories for both biology majors and non-majors who aspire to careers in the health sciences.
