The University of California, Irvine is recruiting an Assistant Professor for its growing Department of Psychiatry and new Sleep center. The successful candidate will be an outstanding researcher in sleep neuroscience, in particular, quantitative EEG and neuroimaging approaches to understanding neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, and the relationship between sleep and cognitive function. This is a Professor Series (academic senate) tenure-line appointment. Salary will be commensurate with training and experience. UC Irvine, located in Orange County, with a population of more than three million, has a long and distinguished tradition of excellence in neuroscience.
Requirements - Research-related experience in sleep, EEG analysis, neurodegenerative diseases and/or functional imaging desirable. Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. and/or a M.D. degree and a record of high-quality research, with scholarly activity and publications commensurate with experience. Candidates with extramural funding or submitted applications for mentored or independent awards, particularly from the federal government, are especially sought. It is expected that the successful candidate will develop an extramurally funded research program.
