Job description

Duties: Under general supervision of the manager of digital services effectively manage multi-media and video production/post-production resources including diagnostics and troubleshooting support related to their use. Develop and document work-flow strategies that promote efficiency and guarantee quality multi-media production.

Manage staff to maintain and service multi-media requests and projects. Work with the peers to develop and expand streaming services on a regular and frequent basis. Serve as technical liaison for the classroom technology group in areas of video production, streaming media and future educational multi-media development.

Work with departments and faculty to develop multi-media solutions and workflows to meet complex and specific needs. Research emerging technologies, develop project scope, and set project priorities for deployment of new technology at the Wharton School.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
5 or more years of video production experience with progressively increasing responsibilities preferred. Supervise a staff of technicians and temporary/student workers. Demonstrate proven success working with technology including audio/video and multimedia production/post-production, digital media streaming, encoding strategies for large-scale processing and distribution, capture-to-streaming workflows for rich media content, live event staging and other classroom technologies.
Experience and expertise in streaming servers, on-line streaming services, and SQL desirable. The successful candidate must be organized, abreast with current and emerging technologies, able to manage staffing for a complex and fluid schedule of projects and events, multitask effectively, possess excellent written communication skills, have the ability to favorable represent Wharton Computing in dealings with non-technical high-profile users. Intermediate level desktop support skills desirable with and emphasis on video editing software.
Required: The ability to climb a ladder, lift equipment up to 50 lbs and a familiarity with minor repairs of technical equipment. Occasional night/weekend coverage with flexible weekday availability will be necessary.
