UNIVERSITY COLLECTIONS MANAGER
Duties: Reporting to the University Curator, assist with maintaining the University's vast collection of art; maintain database, registering and photographing new acquisitions; process donor appraisals and IRS documents; handle inquiries regarding donating art to the University; prepare documentations for gifts, loan agreements, reproductions and copyright agreements; assist with annual condition inspection; track artwork on exhibition; store & care for works not on loan; maintain office, including but not limited to, monitoring & assisting with preparing annual budget, processing invoices and journals, purchasing equipment, creating reports; update website; write periodic newsletter.
Qualifications: H.S. Degree required, Bachelors or Masters Degree preferably in Art History or Museum Studies preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Administrative experience running small office with minimal supervision; previous experience as Collections Manager or Museum Registrar preferred; General knowledge of art, art history and art restoration practices. strong pc skills; Knowledge of databases, preferably Filemaker Pro Database structures and solutions; Proficiency in Photoshop and other Creative Suite applications preferred; ability to photograph artworks for database and publication in high quality media. Ability to lift 25 lbs or more; ability to use small tools; ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
