Duties: The central focus of this position is to provide, under limited supervision, administrative support for three Professors and the operations of the Department of Cancer Biology. Time and additional administrative personnel permitting, position may provide or manage administrative support to other PIs or staff members of the department. Administrative duties include, but are not limited to providing administrative support for the faculty (including travel, meeting scheduling and reimbursements, laboratory and office operations, submitting POs for laboratory supplies and managing office needs), and departmental operations. Exercises discretion in handling, storing and discussing confidential information. Prepares materials and proofreads documents for graphic presentations and manuscripts for publication in scientific journals. Maintains a computer database of records and; performs data entry; and is responsible for reviewing the accuracy and integrity of the system. Manages and maintains complex filing systems, types and edits correspondence and other documents; answers telephones: sorts mail. Works closely with supervisors to coordinate the submission of large program projects and grants.

Qualifications: The minimum of a High School diploma and 3-5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. College degree or coursework preferred. Experience supporting junior faculty strongly preferred. Knowledge of University systems helpful. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Proficiency in MS Office - Excel, PowerPoint and Word; Ability to handle varied tasks, prioritize work and manage time effectively, ability to exercise good judgment and work independently.
