Degree and Area of Specialization:

A Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required, preferably in biology or related field.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

A minimum of one-year biological lab experience is required. Experience with handling small animals is preferred.

Title assignment determined by years of relevant work experience. For the senior level position, a minimum of 7 years experience is required.



Position Summary:

The Department of Surgery, Division of Transplantation, Insulin Gene Therapy for Treatment of Diabetes (Dr. Hans Sollinger & Dr. Tausif Alam) Laboratory is seeking an individual to join our exciting and innovative research project to perform experiments aimed at further improvements and optimization of gene therapy approach to treat diabetes in experimental small animals. The ideal candidate will have excellent cell culture experiences, exemplified by precise and sterile technique, experience in production of adeno associated virus (AAV). and experience in molecular cloning and related techniques. Experience working with experimental rodents would be preferred.

Success full applicants will be energetic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated; will have excellent communication and organization skills, and will be capable of working in a small team environment.
