Director of Financial Aid
Hagerstown Community College is pleased to announce that applications are currently being accepted for a Director of Financial Aid position.
The Director of Financial Aid functions as the lead administrator responsible for the day to day operations of the student financial aid office. The Director coordinates with and is responsible to the representatives in the U.S. Department of Education, Maryland Higher Education Commission and private community organizations.
Education and experience - Master's degree required in an education, counseling or business related field. Minimum of four years of higher education financial aid experience. Preference given to candidates with community college experience who have worked at the assistant director or director level.
Skills and abilities - Demonstrated success in promoting and fostering a student centered team; ability to adapt to constantly changing conditions while maintaining a professional demeanor; ability to work independently and exhibit excellent judgement; unique understanding of needs related to community college mission and open door access policy; natural inclination toward attention to detail, accuracy, and problem solving; ability to manage a multi-functional student services operation in a high paced environment. Continuing Education - Demonstrated history of being actively involved in financial aid continuing education by attending workshops and participating in webinars on a regular basis to stay current in the field; regular participation in online financial aid activities.
