About the Position
Reporting to the Associate Dean of the College of Social Sciences and receiving work lead direction from the Student Services Professionals and Director of Academic Counseling Center for Excellence in the Social Sciences (ACCESS), the Administrative Support Assistant provides general office and reception duties to support the ACCESS Center. Working relatively independently, under direct supervision, the Administrative Support Assistant performs routine clerical and administrative duties in support of the Center, Director, staff and students.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Act as front-line receptionist, answering phones, greeting students, faculty, staff and visitors. Handle walk-ins and questions from students and the general public. Schedule student advising appointments. Maintain ACCESS advisors' schedules. Sort and distribute mail and other communications. Photocopy, sort, file, and prepare routine correspondence. Coordinate and maintain ACCESS databases. Process key, equipment, and service requests. Assist with updating and maintenance of ACCESS website. Assist with coordination of special events and receptions. Provide administrative support for ACCESS Director and advisors. Access CFS/FTS/PeopleSoft HR and Student Admin systems. Maintain ACCESS accounts, tracking expenditures and account balances. Process purchase requisitions, reimbursements, vendor payments, and travel requests for ACCESS.
