Position Description
CGI Federal is hiring a Solutions Architect so support our defense programs. The Architect provides leadership, direction, and accountability for system design and implementation. This role requires a subject matter expert in both software and DoD industry knowledge. Efforts will focus on critical customer business processes, designing solutions, data integration, and software configuration. Your future duties and responsibilities
The Solutions Architect must have expertise in designing and delivering technical solutions with a particular focus on system integration and software development. Primary responsibilities are to work closely with customers and our delivery teams to translate business requirements into solid technical designs and solutions. Additional responsibilities include designing, proposing and presenting technology solutions to clients; taking ownership of solutions across the full system lifecycle; strong collaboration with peers and key stakeholders to develop implementation plans; and taking ownership for the technical integrity of solution designs.

Responsibilities include the following:
• Provide estimates for design and implementation efforts
• Lead in designing end to end information system solutions, considering functionality, data, security, integration, infrastructure and performance
• Build and maintain repository for deliverables, methodologies, and business development documents
• Oversee aspects of project life cycle, from initial kickoff through requirements analysis, design and implementation phases for projects within the solution area
• Perform GAP analysis to determine customization and project planning purposes
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex problem sets, develop creative solutions to same
• Create appropriate documentation for referencing best practices and knowledge transfer
• Research and retrieve information needed to serve client needs
• Deliver a high level of commitment to client success and provide timely and quality services that meet or exceed expectations
• Works with business partners to provide guidance and support in the deployment of complex application solutions
• Communicate and collaborate with CGI and Customer project managers/sponsors
• Participate in oral presentation of software and professional services capabilities to potential clients
• Assist in qualifying sales opportunities and capture support Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• 3+ years of experience working as a Solution Architect (architecture, design, implementation, and support ) and a minimum of 7+ years as a Technical Lead/Manager
• Thorough understanding of Cloud Computing: virtualization technologies, Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service and Software as a Service Cloud delivery models and the current competitive landscape.
• Thorough understanding of infrastructure (firewalls, load balancers, hypervisor, storage, monitoring, security etc.) and have experience with orchestration to develop a cloud solution
• Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) principals and of developing and debugging web applications; HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, JQuery, HTTP request lifecycle, etc.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 10 years' experience.
