General Summary of Position:
The Department of Physical Therapy at UMass Lowell is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and students and seeks a full time tenure track faculty member with a research program in a Physical Therapy related area including Rehabilitation Sciences, Digital Health, Movement Sciences, Robotics or other Physical Therapy related field. Candidates who present evidence of Clinical Expertise and Teaching in Physical Therapy are especially invited to apply. The candidate will be appointed at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level, depending upon qualifications.
The Physical Therapy Department is located within the College of Health Sciences at UMass Lowell. The College of Health Sciences is a dynamic, growing College that prepares professionals and scientists in a wide range of health science fields including applied, clinical and translational areas. A large research program and vibrant community partnerships and engagement opportunities enrich and support our educational programs. The candidate will work with internal collaborators in the College of Health Sciences and community partners as well as with external academic colleagues.
The Physical Therapy Department of UMass Lowell invites applicants who have a successful track record in research and scholarship and demonstrate significant potential to procure extramural funding to support their research program. We seek applicants recognized for teaching excellence, scholarly productivity, ability to work with diverse populations, and excellent oral and written communication skills in English. The individual will also be engaged in service to the College as required.

The appointment is expected to be fall 2017.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):
-An academic doctoral degree (PhD, or other research degree) from an accredited university in a field related to physical therapy (must have degree by the time of appointment, fall 2017)
-Evidence of Research Program including funding and publication
-The ability to work effectively with diverse groups
-Strong communication and collaborative abilities

Other Considerations:
-Post-Doc in Physical Therapy related field highly preferred
-Eligible for physical therapy licensure in the United States
-Clinical experience in Physical Therapy
-Assistant Professor candidates must have a research program with a strong likelihood of funding
-Associate/Full Professor candidates must have a strong record of research in a currently tenured position with a record of extramural research support
-Graduate teaching in physical therapy, applied anatomy, physiology, exercise science or similar fields
