Position Summary

This position exists to serve as a full-time member of the biology faculty during the 2017-2018 academic year. This is a one year appointment with the possibility of renewal.
This position involves teaching 14 credits per semester and coordinating Anatomy & Physiology laboratories.

The University is particularly interested in applicants who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for under-represented groups.

Duties/Responsibilities

Teach 14 credit hours per semester, including all required laboratories in Human Anatomy and Physiology I & II. Scheduling may include days, evenings, weekends, and online instruction. Responsibilities also include coordination of all Anatomy & Physiology laboratories in one lab room. This includes ordering supplies, overseeing the set-up of all labs, and mentoring affiliate A&P instructors.



Required Qualifications

Master’s in biology or closely related field with an emphasis in anatomy and physiology.

Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. or significant post-Master’s degree education in Anatomy and Physiology.

Demonstrated ability to teach Human Anatomy and Physiology as evidenced by teaching experience, research experience, graduate training, and/or professional expertise.

The successful candidate must have the ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse urban population including (but not limited to) students of color, LBGTQIA students, students from low-income backgrounds, first-generation students, students with disabilities, undocumented students, non-traditional students, student veterans, and English-language learners.
