(Job #17-38) Network Analyst - Career (NETANL-12C), Lead Network Analyst, $4,372 - $9,683/month. Level of appointment will be determined by education, experience and skills; appointments are typically made at the beginning of the salary range. This is a full-time, benefited, 12-month position with a one-year probationary period in Information Technology Services.

The Job: This position provides tactical and operational leadership to the team that manages the campus TCP/IP network and telephone system - two core, mission critical IT services on campus. This position will provide oversight and coordination of current and upcoming projects and assignments for a team of five other analysts, allocating and prioritizing resources to deliver a high degree of productivity. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong project management, staff leadership, communication, documentation, problem solving, and critical thinking skills; learn quickly; manage time effectively even while under stress; be highly motivated and self-directed. This position is responsible for:
-Effectively leading a highly skilled and productive team through a mix of project and daily operations work Developing requirements, outlines, budgets, and schedules for information technology projects
-Responding to and prioritizing issues and incidents related to campus telecommunications and network systems in a timely manner with excellent customer service
-Participating with other network analysts in the execution of complex projects
-Developing and maintaining relationships with students, vendors, fellow employees, and campus-wide leadership
-Managing and monitoring the campus data and voice networks as well as their shared physical plant.

Upcoming projects include: Completing a voice mail upgrade, expanding outside wireless access on campus, and improving phone and network connectivity to several campus buildings.

Minimum Qualifications: Three years of responsible experience performing duties as stated above. A four-year college degree in telecommunications, computer science, engineering, electronics or other related field from an accredited institution may be substituted for two years of the relevant experience listed. Possession of valid California Driver License required.

Knowledge, Abilities & Skills:
-Working knowledge of current data networking systems, protocols, and industry standards
-Experience with structured cabling systems and knowledge of industry standards for those systems
-Demonstrated ability to manage complex telecommunications and networking projects
-Experience reviewing construction plans
-Must be able and willing to work some irregular hours and respond to after-hours emergency calls as directed
-Professional experience working with a diverse population.

Preferred Qualifications:
-BICSI or RCDD Certification
-Experience in a higher education environment
-Experience with Aruba Wireless Controllers
-Experience with Alcatel Networking Equipment
