Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a talented Workers Compensation Supervisor to join our Workers Compensation team in Tampa, FL. The selected candidate will be working in a fast pace, growing, and challenging work environment. They will be responsible for providing quality service and accurate results supports our primary mission as a trusted adviser to our clients. As a Care Coordinator Supervisor your valuable role and focus will be on ensuring optimal service is provided to Cordant's customers and patients through call handling and arranging for laboratory testing services. In this important role, you will oversee the daily coordination of the requested laboratory testing and assess individual and team performance of the Care Coordinators on a regular basis to provide timely development and feedback needs. You will reinforce Cordant's mission of being a Specialty Laboratory market leader and trustworthy partner to payers.

Essential Functions:
  • Oversees day-to-day operations of one or more teams in operations
  • Monitor daily performance and productivity standards at both the team and individual level
  • Evaluates team performance to ensure customers are receiving a high level of service
  • Directs team in providing appropriate services by utilizing active listening and communication techniques
  • Communicate and reinforce department goal, policies and procedures
  • Evaluates the quality of Associates' calls and documentation; provides feedback to reps on strengths and areas for improvement
  • Supervise and lead Care Coordinator and fax team in processes that drive effective performance results
  • Works with the Director to ensure adequate staffing and service levels, and maintains customer satisfaction by implementing and monitoring staff productivity and performance indicators
  • Maintains effective team member relations
  • Provides feedback regarding performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, hiring/interviewing and promotions
  • Recognizes exceptional employee performance
  • Assists team members in improving skills, creativity and problem solving
  • Collaborates with and keeps the Director appraised of operational issues, staffing, resources, system and program needs
  • Manages and completes assigned work plan objectives and projects in a timely manner
  • Participates in committees, task forces, work groups and multidisciplinary teams as needed
  • Maintains professional relationships with provider community, payer community and internal and external customers while identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Conducts self in a professional manner at all times
  • Acts as an information and problem solving resource for Care Coordinator team members
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Additional Duties:
  • May serve as a backup to more senior management in their absence
  • Assists the Director in conducting regular monthly staff meetings
  • Assists with selection, orientation and mentoring of new team members


Education and Experience:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree is preferable or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience
    • 5 years of experience leading, mentoring, training and/or supervising
    • 4 years' work experience in a customer service related field including order fulfillment or scheduling, preferably healthcare
    • Pharmacy or toxicology experience such as laboratory technician/assistant, pharmacy technician or PBM work experience preferred
    • Workers' compensation industry experience preferred
  • Proven ability to lead and supervise large teams effectively
  • Working knowledge of workforce management practices and tools (e.g., scheduling software, quality monitoring software)
