I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

The Pharmacology and Physiology Department of George Washington University is currently seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic postdoctoral fellow interested in using a combination of human genetics and animal models to study the mechanisms of neurodevelopmental and neuromuscular disorders. Our works stems from human mutations severely affecting brain development and cognitive function, and focuses on studying the interactions between the extracellular matrix and its neuronal receptors focusing on a group of muscular dystrophies associated with brain malformations. We believe in innovative, multi-disciplinary and question-driven science, and promote an atmosphere of open communication and collaboration inside and outside the lab. Graduate experience in human genetics, zebra fish genetics or glycobiology is preferred, but experience in neuronal cell biology and biochemistry will also be considered. There will be numerous opportunities for training to complement current skills. A history of publication in human genetics, glycobiology or neurobiology is also preferred. Position is fully funded for at least 2 years.
