The Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia seeks applicants to teach fitness courses in the Lifetime Physical Activity (LPA) program in the Department of Kinesiology for the Fall 2017. Instructors or Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs) are needed in the following sports and activities:
Cross Training & Conditioning
Dance for Fitness
Introduction to Mindfulness
Meditation Peer Leadership
Running for Fitness
Swimming for Fitness
Women's Weight Training
Preference will be given to full-time enrolled UVa graduate and doctoral students, and UVa employees. A master's degree or equivalent coursework in a doctoral program, as well as significant experience in the physical activity discipline you are applying for is required for a faculty wage appointment. UVa GTA appointments require full-time graduate student status (12 credit hours) as well as significant experience in the physical activity discipline you are applying for. Additionally, prior to the first class all new hires are required to be certified in CPR and First Aid and must provide proof of certification in those areas.
