Job Description
The Department of Neuropsychiatry & Behavioral Science, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, is pleased to announce a non-tenure track faculty position for a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. This is a full-time, 85% clinical, 10% educational and 5% research related position. Duties will include training psychiatrists in the filed of Child and Adolescent psychiatry. Our training program is dedicated to training culturally competent psychiatrists in the modern practice of psychotherapy and psychopharmacology for the benefit of child/adolescent persons with severe and persistent mental health illnesses living in our communities. Training initiatives with an emphasis on participatory learning have been designed for all levels of multidisciplinary team members. Will also provide clinical care via Telehealth for the South Carolina Department of Mental Health for Child and Adolescents, as well as PH/USC Medical Group outpatient clinic. Facilitates mental health training within the Palmetto Health Psychiatry Residency and the South Carolina Department of Mental Health and other partners.


Minimum Qualifications
MD degree. Board eligible or board certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and be eligible for licensure in South Carolina.


Preferred Qualifications
Applicants are expected to have strong academic credentials, and experience in teaching in a university setting.
