Summary
Manage and coordinate the operational activities of a network of recording studio facilities to ensure effective audio/video production and live broadcast. Work Performed Manage and coordinate operation of recording studio facilities to ensure design and production of quality sound and video recordings, multi-media programs, etc. for Duke Athletics and the Office of News & Communications.
Provide broadcast engineering support of live events for in-house and ACC Network video productions, both digital and linear
Oversee and maintain computer equipment, software, hardware, and local area network applications on systems throughout the video production facilities and venues
Perform and coordinate a variety of technical tasks involved in the operation of a recording studio to include setting up, operating, and troubleshooting equipment to capture and/or broadcast the session, set the lighting, and mix sounds to achieve the desired effect.
Facilitate broadcast of interviews with external news organizations, including ESPN and CNN.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and address technical issues for recording and network broadcast, including ISDN, IFB, and LTN systems.
Maintain inventory and required supplies and equipment; make minor adjustments and repairs to equipment; evaluate new media equipment and techniques for application at Duke; and recommend purchase of new equipment and supplies.
Coordinate and direct media projects in a way to best represent Duke; supervise production to include scheduling space, personnel, and support activities; contract for professional services;
Keep up-to-date with industry trends; experiment with innovative and creative content types and delivery.
Participate in the production of scripts, slide/tape programs, motion media projects, etc. including original footage and animation both independently and as part of a larger team.
Participate as a member of Athletics and ONC staff including outreach, engagement, and training efforts for the network of communicators; develop and maintain relationships with faculty and staff for the purpose of promoting activities and telling Duke's stories.

Education/Training - Work requires knowledge of video production, sound recording, lighting, as well communications, analytical, and organizational skills generally acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree in a related field.
Experience - Work requires minimum of two years' experience in media production, with preference to operational experience with live broadcast interviews. Extensive knowledge of video broadcast production equipment Experience with Ross video switchers,RossXpression, Daktronics LED displays and components, video instant replay systems, broadcast cameras, and cable termination Ability to work outside of typical business hours as needed, potentially including but not limited to evenings, weekends, and holidays
