St. Joseph's Health Centre is a fully accredited community teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto. We provide primary, secondary and tertiary services to a culturally diverse community in Southwest Toronto.
Reporting to the Chief of Staff and the Medical and Administrative Program Directors of the Women's and Children's Program, the Chief will exhibit strong leadership skills in the areas of communication, clinical service delivery, resource allocation/ utilization and performance management. The Chief will champion best practice and quality initiatives in a dynamic inter-professional environment within a program management model.
The Paediatric Program is a Level II Service with: 3,400 deliveries/year, 14 paediatric beds, 20 NICU bassinettes, a walk-in clinic, a wide variety of ambulatory services, and a full complement of paediatricians. The paediatric inpatient and outpatient units are consolidated to a recently renovated floor in the new wing of the hospital and all obstetrical and NICU care is on one floor of the same building.
The successful candidate will be an accomplished clinician with a proven track record of academic achievements and must possess a FRCP(C) Paediatrics and have a license to practice in Ontario. The Chief will promote continued growth in academic relations with the University of Toronto and will be eligible for academic appointment at the University of Toronto.
