Dean of Business
The dean serves as the visionary leader for teaching/learning processes and instructional services in all departments or programs assigned to the Business Division. An effective Dean strategically improves the quality of the institution, protects the long-term health of the organization, promotes the success of all students, and sustains the community college mission, based on knowledge of the organization, its environment, and future trends.
This position requires an individual who embraces the spirit of collegiality and collaboration, is self-motivated, energetic, and creative, and possesses proven leadership, management, and communication skills. The Dean will develop collaborative relationships with business, industry, and the education community to facilitate the responsiveness of all programs in the Business Division to meet their instructional needs and provides communication links to both internal and external constituencies by serving on councils, committees, and task forces.
- Earned Doctorate or Masters degree with relevant experience
- Minimum of 5 years successful senior level administrative and leadership experience in business, non-profit organization, government or education
- Minimum of three years college teaching experience
- Doctorate degree
- Administrative and/or leadership experience in a post-secondary academic environment
- College teaching experience in one of the departments supervised. These include Business (Accounting, Business Administration, Legal Studies, Business Office Technology, Economics, Marketing and Management, and Entrepreneurship), Computer Science/Information Technology, Cosmetology, Fashion Merchandising and Design or Culinary and Hospitality Management
