Department

The Florida Center for Reading Research. Located in Innovation Park at 2010 Levy Avenue.

Responsibilities

Administration of individual language and cognitive development assessments which include standardized assessments and computer based assessments for 1st through 7th grades in local schools.
Attend project training and successfully pass assessment-related evaluations is required. Coordination with project staff, classroom teachers and school personnel is required.

Qualifications

High school diploma and 2 or more years of experience working with children, this can include classroom teaching, tutoring, or other related experience.
Applicants must be able to follow directions and pay attention to details, work independently and also work as a contributing team member. Communicate effectively with a diverse population. Strong organizational skills along with solid decision making skills and the ability to meet deadlines and work in a timely manner.
Must have reliable means of communicating through email. Must have a valid Florida driver’s license and reliable personal transportation to travel to schools and health insurance.

Preferred

Bachelor's degree; experience in teaching/tutoring and test administration preferred.

Other Information

Position is available from mid-August 2017 through mid-December 2017. Continuation of employment after this date will solely depend upon available funding.
This is a Follow-Up Assessment Project where students that will be assessed will be at any of the local Leon County Schools in grades 1st – 7th.

Anticipated Salary Range

Hourly rate is dependent upon education and experience and will start at $11.00/hr.

Pay Plan

This is an OPS/temporary Job.

Soft Money Funded Position

This position is time-limited based on soft money funding, with renewal contingent upon available funds and the needs of the University.

Schedule

Hours will vary from week to week and day to day. Applicant must have availability between the hours of 8:30 – 3:30, Monday through Friday. There will not be continuous testing taking place during these hours; these are the available hours that we will be able to go into the local schools and assess the students. Scheduling will solely be dependent upon the available times received from the students, Teachers and Principals. There will be no hours available when local schools are not in attendance. This is a part-time position.

Criminal Background Check

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check, to include fingerprinting.
