St. Norbert College, a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college, is seeking a part-time Prep Cook to join its award winning culinary team with a best food in WI colleges ranking (www.snc.edu/dining/). This is an academic-year (9 month employment) position and works varying weekdays, 24 hours per week. This position is not benefit-eligible and does not work summers, winter or spring breaks.
The Prep Cook will work within both the main dining hall that services the student meal plan, Ruth’s Marketplace; as well as prepare foods for our catering operations. Ruth’s Marketplace serves approximately 2,200 meals per day and consists of 6 distinct dining platforms, including an internationally themed station, pasta/pizza, Homestyle grill stations, deli and more.
This position assists chefs, bakers and production managers in preparing recipe-driven menu items for the student meal plan. In addition, the Prep Cook supports the multi-faceted high volume catering operations and participates in staff in-services, including CPR, Serve Safe and emergency procedures training. This position also assists in cleaning equipment and work spaces to help ensure a safe and sanitary work environment.
